Case managers & referrers

Psychological treatment with clear goals, communication and boundaries

For rehabilitation case managers, insurers, solicitors, healthcare professionals and other appropriate referrers.

Treating-psychologist referrals

I accept appropriate referrals for psychological assessment and treatment. My combined background in Counselling Psychology and Occupational Psychology is particularly relevant where trauma, emotional recovery, changed functioning, work and rehabilitation need to be considered together.

I work as the treating psychologist, providing individually planned therapy with defined goals, proportionate communication and clear professional boundaries.

What you can expect as a referrer

I provide a responsive and clearly scoped treating-psychologist service. Before work begins, I will clarify the purpose of the referral, whether it falls within my role, the proposed assessment or treatment, anticipated timescales, communication arrangements and costs.

  • Clear treatment aims and agreed review points
  • An assessment and treatment proposal where required
  • Proportionate reports within agreed timescales
  • Progress monitoring where clinically useful
  • Liaison with the case manager and wider team, with the client’s consent
  • Early communication if treatment needs, risks or timescales change
  • Clear boundaries between treatment and independent medico-legal opinion

My professional role

I work as a treating psychologist. I do not act as an independent medico-legal expert, Occupational Health practitioner or advocate. I do not determine liability, resolve disputed facts, establish disability status or make formal fitness-for-work or capability decisions.

Starting a referral

Email a brief, preferably non-identifying outline including the reason for referral, broad goals, funding arrangement, reporting requirements and relevant timescales. Please do not send detailed medical records, legal bundles or highly sensitive information through the general enquiries address.

If the referral appears potentially suitable, I can arrange a free preliminary telephone conversation of up to 15 minutes. A secure Proton Mail route will then be provided for agreed referral documentation.

Fees

The standard fee for a 50-minute psychological treatment appointment is £130. Where work is commissioned by a case manager, insurer or organisation, assessment, record review, reporting, liaison, meetings and other professional activity are agreed and costed separately. Written terms confirm the work authorised, payer, reporting requirements and any funding limits.
